On the Minister's Mind
by Rev. Laine Morgan
By the time this newsletter is distributed, I will be somewhere in Thailand, but I can guarantee that I will be thinking about our upcoming Summer together at CSLTB!
Every year, during the hottest months in Florida when it is too warm to be excited about much activity, we intentionally share community time exploring ways to deepen our spiritual connection with God, with our inner voice, and with each other. This summer will be no different!
Being in nature is one of the most accessible ways we can interact with the Divine in a way that engages our 5 senses. Nature moments unite our spiritual and human aspects beautifully. And, since our community is located so close to the beach, it is often the place where we seek intentional time in nature. There is something about standing on the sand or walking through the gentle surf of the Gulf, isn’t there?
And, most would agree that there seems to be some special energy available when we witness sunrise or sunset. In those quiet moments as the day begins or ends, mindfulness seems to be possible with greater ease.
What if we intentionally connected with Spirit in nature as we contemplated big questions and sought answers to take us to higher ground in our lives? That is the idea of our summer program. We’re calling it – Summer Sunrises & Sunsets 2026 – and we hope you want to dive in with us.
Let me echo the wise words of Canadien writer Jo Walton - “There's a sunrise and a sunset every single day, and they're absolutely free. Don't miss so many of them.”
This summer let’s not miss any of them – they all carry gifts of mindfulness and peace! Registration information will be available this Sunday!
