On the Minister's Mind
by Rev. Laine Morgan
This week in Centers for Spiritual Living, the topic of discussion is about becoming a “possibilitarian”. Don’t you love that word?
What possibilities do you see for your life, your family, your neighborhood, your world? Our spiritual teaching says that we can only experience what we know is possible, yet so often we limit things by calling things impossible. Let’s see the biggest possibilities ever!
Here is a prayer written by Rev. Sonia Russell at Heart & Soul Center of Light in Oakland, that really speaks to my heart today as I consider the gravity of things unfolding in the experiences of people all over the world. Maybe it will speak to you too.
"Imagine a world where we remember—every moment—that we are each the living breath of the One Spirit, woven together in a tapestry of infinite worth. No one is left out. No one is less than.
In this knowing, love is not a choice but our natural state. Every smile becomes an act of healing. Every word carries the power to bless. Every decision shapes a world where justice and joy flow without end. Here, borders dissolve, scarcity disappears, and the impossible becomes the everyday.
This is the vision we are here to live—not someday, but now. What if we really, truly, deeply knew this? Not just in theory, but in practice? Not only on paper, but in real life? What if, without exception, caveat, asterisk, sidenote, footnote or qualifier, we believed that a world that works for everyone was not only possible, but inevitable?
And what if the proof came only when we actually practiced all that we teach on Oneness? Let us step into this dream with open eyes, open hands, and open hearts, and watch the world transform with the power of our Oneness."
Let’s hold hands as a community and step into Oneness – not someday, but now. The possibilities are endless on all levels of life. It’s up to us to live it.
